King Apparel AW 09

Having assisted Neil Bedford on a number of the shoots for King Apparel's advertising over the past year I was asked to feature in the Autumn/winter ad campaign as well as carrying out my usual assisting role. Following being in the adverts I returned a couple weeks later to shoot the final advert myself featuring Daniel Clarke and Shaun Witherup, which can be seen below and is also featured in the latest issue of Sidewalk Surfer.

Blog a blog

When you start a blog it seems that something awakens inside of you that requires you to start checking out other blogs. It also seems that the more you blog the more you want to check out other blogs. Before long you find yourself reading so many blogs you want to write on your blog about other blogs and you're discussing with people which blogs you're into and why the blogs you look at are the best blogs. Here is a fun video blog I just came across, while reading Patrick O'Dell's blog and then being linked to NYpress and then googling Lance Mountain who was listed in the article I was reading on NYpress. Wednesdays with Reda. Enjoy

Road Trip

The weekend before last saw me making my annual visit to Liverpool for the Slamm Jamm competition at Rampworks skatepark. As per usual on these short skate trips I did my best to keep camera to eye at all times and document the weekend as much as possible. We got stuck in tons of traffic but only one quite major injury occured which is good going considering the way things usually go. I also managed to find a roll of film from Sweden that I thought I'd lost, more holiday snaps up soon.

Finland

My brother is currently living in Finland and had a week off so I flew out to visit him last Monday. We caught a boat to Sweden part way through the week and then I flew home from there. I think I may have mislaid one of the films I shot there but hopefully it'll materialise soon as its the one with all my pictures from the boat. Here are a few pictures from Finland, Sweden pictures to follow.

Times gone by

More often than not I end up shooting more film than I can afford to develop and scan and so seem to have a constant backlog of pictures waiting to come to life. I've recently been able to develop a load of film that I had from over summer and found time to scan it. The only thing missing was actually be able to go in the darkroom to do my own prints and contact sheets. I'm really enjoying shooting lots of film again and continuing to explore how to get the best from it, which I imagine i'll be doing for as long as I keep taking pictures. (click images to enlarge)

Another portrait from the collection that I've been building of skaters that I have met over the years. I intend to continue shooting until I have a series containing about 50 portraits.

Sketchbook

Over the past few years I've tried to keep some form of sketchbook with all my developing ideas, notes, scribbles tests etc and anything else that I want to keep a record of. I was looking back over these images today and while I wasn't so keen on them when I first shot them I've really taken a liking to them now. (click images to enlarge)
